BEARS WHOOP CLEVELAND AT SOLDIER FIELD... WHILE THE NFL COMMISSIONER IS TRYING TO KEEP THEM FROM PACKING FOR HAMMOND 😂

The Bears spent Saturday night reminding everybody why this stadium situation is getting a little awkward.

Because while the organization is talking about possibly taking its football across the state line to Hammond, Indiana, the Bears were still at Soldier Field handling business.

And HANDLE IT they did.

The Chicago Bears beat the Cleveland Browns 34-10 Saturday, scoring the final 34 points of the game. Third-string quarterback Case Keenum came in and apparently decided third string didn't mean third effort. 😂

Keenum went 9-for-10 for 151 yards and two touchdowns, finishing with a perfect 158.3 passer rating. 

CASE KEENUM SAID, “Y'ALL GOT ANY MORE QUARTERBACK JOBS BACK THERE?” 😂

Sir came off the bench throwing the football like somebody told him performance reviews were Monday morning.

Meanwhile, there is another Bears battle happening that has absolutely NOTHING to do with Cleveland.

🏟️ CHICAGO VS. HAMMOND: HERE COMES ROGER GOODELL

Just days before the Bears' preseason victory, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell reportedly met privately with a few Illinois lawmakers as the franchise continues trying to determine where its future stadium will be built.

And THAT is interesting because Bears President and CEO Kevin Warren said the team's “sole focus” right now is a new stadium and mixed-use development in Hammond, Indiana. 

Illinois apparently heard “sole focus” and said:

“ROGER... YOU GOT A MINUTE?” 😭

Because suddenly the COMMISSIONER is sitting down with Illinois lawmakers.

Baby, when the NFL commissioner gets involved, we have officially moved beyond:

“We'll circle back.”

The Bears haven't completely shut the door on Illinois, but Hammond is getting very serious attention. The team is evaluating two potential Hammond sites, while negotiations over an Illinois stadium solution remain unresolved.

And here's the funniest part of this whole thing.

The Bears could eventually leave Illinois...

Move to Indiana...

Build a gigantic new stadium in Hammond...

And Chairman George McCaskey says they're STILL keeping the name:

CHICAGO BEARS.

😂😂😂

Yep. Even if they cross the state line, McCaskey says the Chicago Bears name isn't changing. 

So apparently we're NOT getting the:

HAMMOND BEARS.

And after all the fun we've had with that name, I personally feel robbed. 😭

But here's what Chicago should really be watching:

Why is Roger Goodell meeting with Illinois lawmakers NOW if Hammond is supposedly the Bears' sole focus?

Is the NFL trying to help Illinois put together something that keeps the Bears here?

Is Hammond truly where the Bears want to go?

Or is Indiana putting just enough pressure on Illinois to suddenly make everybody find each other's phone numbers again?

Because Saturday the Bears were still running out onto Soldier Field with CHICAGO across their chest...

They beat Cleveland 34-10...

And somewhere behind the scenes, people are trying to figure out what state they'll eventually be running onto the field IN.
