FOUR PEOPLE SHOT IN CHICAGO'S SOUTH AUSTIN NEIGHBORHOOD, TWO CRITICALLY INJURED

📍CHICAGO, Ill. — Four people were wounded, two critically, after gunfire erupted Friday morning in Chicago's South Austin neighborhood.

According to Chicago police, the shooting happened at approximately 9:38 a.m. in the 400 block of North Pine Avenue.

Police said the victims were outside when someone inside a dark-colored vehicle opened fire in their direction.

A 23-year-old man was shot multiple times and transported to Stroger Hospital in critical condition.

A 24-year-old man suffered gunshot wounds to his body and was also taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition.

A 27-year-old man was shot in the leg and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition, while a 33-year-old man was shot in the foot and taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition.

NO ONE IN CUSTODY

As of the latest report, no arrests had been announced, and Area Four detectives were investigating the shooting.

Authorities have not publicly released information about what may have led to the gunfire or identified the person or people responsible.
