Baby, pull up a chair because apparently lying on your résumé wasn't ambitious enough for these folks.

Federal prosecutors say Daejon Labrayae Love, 35, and Taylor Jamie Chan, 18, created an elaborate fantasy world involving professional football, millions of dollars, luxury investments and a financial adviser.

Only problem?

THE FBI SAYS THE SHIT WAS FAKE.

The money allegedly taken from women?

That part was VERY damn real. 😭

Love and Chan have been charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and wire fraud. Prosecutors allege at least 26 women were taken for approximately $1.3 MILLION between February 2022 and their arrests on August 24, 2026. Authorities say there could be additional victims. Both men are accused, not convicted, and are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.

🏈 FIRST, THIS MF WAS ALLEGEDLY IN THE NFL

According to federal investigators, Love met many of the women through dating apps and allegedly presented himself as either a San Francisco 49ers player or a wealthy real-estate investor.

Sir.

There is a roster.

A PUBLIC ROSTER. 😭

The NFL and the 49ers reportedly confirmed to investigators that Love never worked for either organization. 

But prosecutors say the alleged performance went WAY beyond putting on a jersey and taking some pictures.

Love allegedly convinced women that he was genuinely wealthy, successful and interested in building a future with them.

That's when this story gets even more ridiculous.

💰 A $200,000 SAFE, THREE BODYGUARDS AND A PRIVATE CHEF?!

According to allegations described in the federal case, Love didn't just claim he had a little money.

Baby, this man allegedly created GENERATIONAL WEALTH: THE IMAGINARY EDITION.

He reportedly claimed he came from one of the wealthiest families in Switzerland and that his family had ownership interests connected to Gucci stores in the United States.

He allegedly talked about having three bodyguards and a personal chef.

In one video described in reporting on the federal affidavit, Love allegedly showed a woman designer merchandise, a luxury watch, a safe he claimed contained approximately $200,000 in cash, and a phone displaying more than $30 MILLION in supposed account balances.

THIRTY MILLION?!

At that point Lady Red needs to see a tax return, a W-2, a 1099, three bank statements, AND somebody from Switzerland needs to FaceTime me holding today's newspaper.

Because NO.

📱 THEN THE FBI LOOKED AT THE BANK ACCOUNT

And this is where the Knucklehead News orchestra starts playing. 🎻😭

Investigators allege that Love used phone applications to create fake bank and investment balances.

One piece of software identified in reporting on the affidavit was called Fake Bank Account Pro, which can display whatever account balance somebody enters.

Investigators also allege that on at least one occasion, a demo trading account containing practice money was presented as though it represented actual investments.

WAIT.

So you're sitting there thinking your man has millions...

Meanwhile that bank balance got the financial credibility of a Monopoly board?!

Ladies.

If that mf's bank account has a DOWNLOAD BUTTON, we need to have a meeting. 😭

👔 AND DON'T WORRY... HE ALLEGEDLY HAD A FINANCIAL ADVISER TOO

Because every imaginary millionaire needs an imaginary financial department.

Federal prosecutors say Taylor Jamie Chan, who was just 18 when arrested, allegedly posed as Love's financial adviser.

Authorities say Chan would communicate with Love about supposed investment opportunities. Love could then show women screenshots of those conversations to make the investments appear legitimate.

Prosecutors even allege the pair participated in three-way FaceTime calls, displaying supposed investment gains and encouraging women to invest.

BABY...

They allegedly had a whole damn customer-service department for the bullshit.

This wasn't:

“Hey girl, send me $500.”

This was allegedly:

“Good afternoon, ma'am. Let me transfer you to our Wealth Management Department.”

📞 Please hold while we locate some more lies. 😭😭😭

💸 AND SOME WOMEN WERE ALLEGEDLY ENCOURAGED TO TAKE OUT LOANS

This is where the funny stops being quite so funny.

Prosecutors say that when some women didn't have enough cash to participate in the supposed investments, they were allegedly encouraged to take out personal loans.

Love reportedly assured them they would quickly get their money back.

Federal authorities say the identified victims reported receiving no investment proceeds or returns after sending their money.

And prosecutors allege that once women ran out of money or started asking too many questions?

Communication got BLOCKED. 

That's not just getting ghosted.

That's allegedly getting ghosted with a damn loan payment due on the 15th.

😳 ONE WOMAN SAID SOMETHING DIDN'T SMELL RIGHT

One woman who said she met Love through a dating app years ago told CBS News that he talked about a wealthy Swiss family and private chef even back then.

She became suspicious because the story sounded too good to be true.

She later examined some of the flashy NFL-related footage he sent and concluded it appeared to have been screen-recorded rather than filmed by him.

She blocked him.

SEE?!

Sometimes that little voice saying:

“Girl... this shit don't sound right.”

IS YOUR INTERNAL FBI AGENT CLOCKING IN FOR WORK. 😭

🚨 BUT DON'T BLAME THE WOMEN

And Lady Red wants to make something VERY clear.

It's easy to read this story afterward and say:

“How did anybody believe that?”

But romance scams work because scammers don't usually walk up saying:

“Hello. I'm about to steal your money.”

They allegedly build relationships.

They create receipts.

They show pictures.

They introduce other people.

They manufacture documents and account balances.

They create an entire world designed to make the lie look normal.

That's why federal investigators take these schemes seriously.

According to prosecutors, this one allegedly operated for more than four years and involved women across Oregon, Washington, Idaho and California.

Because I'm still stuck at the damn résumé.

NFL player.

Swiss fortune.

Real-estate investor.

Gucci empire.

Three bodyguards.

Private chef.

$200,000 sitting in a safe.

$30 million showing on the phone.

AND a personal financial adviser?!

Sir, you allegedly had more careers than Barbie.

And apparently somebody needed to ask one simple question:

Because according to the government, there wasn't one.

Love and Chan now face federal charges, and the allegations still have to be proven in court.

But if prosecutors' version of events holds up...

Because allegedly creating a fake fortune is one thing.

Creating fake investments is another.

But having a fake financial adviser allegedly helping verify your fake money from a fake investment account while you're pretending to play for a REAL NFL TEAM?!
