🚨 SCAM ALERT: FAKE PAPERLESS POST INVITES ARE BEING USED TO STEAL EMAIL LOGINS

If you get a Paperless Post invitation from somebody you know, DO NOT automatically assume they actually sent it.

I'm writing this because I was personally a victim of this scam.

So let me say this FIRST:

IF YOU RECEIVE A PARTY INVITATION FROM ME THROUGH PAPERLESS POST, I DID NOT SEND IT. IT'S THE HACKER. DO NOT CLICK IT.

And here's how they got me.

I received an invitation that appeared to come from someone connected to the radio station. It looked like it was coming from somebody I knew, so naturally, I didn't immediately think somebody was trying to get into my account.

That's what makes this scam so slick.

Afterward, people started contacting me saying they were receiving a party invitation from me.

Problem is...

I AIN'T HAVING NO DAMN PARTY! 😂

I checked my Sent folder and didn't see the invitations being sent, which made the whole thing even more confusing.

Then I discovered something important:

🚨 CHECK YOUR TRASH AND SPAM FOLDERS TOO!

Don't just check your Sent folder.

In my case, messages connected to what was happening were being dumped into the Trash, making it look like nothing had been sent.

If people suddenly start receiving invitations from you that you didn't send, check your Sent, Trash AND Spam folders. Also check your email filters, forwarding settings, recent login activity and devices connected to your account.

If you clicked one of these invitations and entered your email password, change that password immediately and turn on two-factor authentication.

And please understand this part:

DON'T BLAME THE PERSON WHO SENT YOU THE INVITATION.

They might not even know it's being sent.

That's exactly how I received mine, and now people are receiving them with my name and email address attached.

So again, if you receive a party invitation from me:

DELETE THAT MF. 😂 LADY RED AIN'T INVITE YOU TO NO PARTY! She is but she didnt send an invite.

But seriously, PLEASE SHARE THIS WARNING. This scam is dangerous because it uses people we recognize to make us trust the invitation.

Before you click that invite, call or text the person and ask one simple question:

“Did you send me this?”

That 10-second text could save you one gigantic headache.
