Seven-Year-Old Found Safe After Car Taken on West Side

A seven-year-old boy was found safe Friday night after a vehicle was taken with him still inside on Chicago’s West Side.

Chicago police responded to the 5800 block of West Adams Street shortly before 11:40 p.m.

Police said the child’s mother was arguing with a friend when the friend allegedly took

her vehicle while the boy remained inside.

Officers located the car and child a short time later with the boy’s grandmother. Authorities did not release additional information explaining how they arrived there.

The child was reported safe, and no injuries were disclosed.

Police have not announced whether anyone was arrested or charged. Area Four detectives are continuing to investigate the incident.
