Sydney Taylor’s Last-Second Three Lifts Sky Over Aces

Sydney Taylor delivered the BOOM moment of the game Saturday, hitting a three-pointer with nine-tenths of a second remaining to give the Chicago Sky an 84–83 victory over the Las Vegas Aces.

Las Vegas took an 83–81 lead after A’ja Wilson scored with 3.2 seconds left. Following a timeout, Natasha Cloud found Taylor on the left wing, and the rookie knocked down a 29-foot shot to put Chicago ahead.

Taylor finished with 29 points, including 13 in the fourth quarter. She made three three-pointers during the final period as the Sky erased a double-digit deficit and outscored Las Vegas by 11 points in the quarter.

The victory improved Chicago’s record to 11–18 and gave the home crowd one of the Sky’s most exciting finishes of the season.

For Taylor, an undrafted rookie emerging as one of Chicago’s brightest young players, the shot was another major moment in a rapidly growing first WNBA season.
