1890📚Congress signed the Second Morrill Act which included the stipulation that Black Americans were to be included in the US Land-Grant University Higher Education System without discrimination. It further made provision that required states with separate colleges for Black & White citizens, to designate or establish a college to train Black students in agriculture, mechanical arts, & architecture. These Southern-Border States became known as the Negro Land-Grant Institutions or HBCUs
1966📚Constance Baker Motley is confirmed as U.S. district judge becoming the 1st Black woman on the federal bench. She was also the 1st Black woman elected to the New York State Senate in 1964
