Remember that massive $725 MILLION Facebook privacy settlement?

Well, apparently there were some coins left in the couch cushions. 😂

A second distribution of settlement payments was approved after millions of dollars from the original payout went unclaimed or weren't successfully cashed. The remaining money is being redistributed to certain people who already qualified for the original settlement.

And before everybody who has ever liked a Facebook post starts yelling...

There's a catch.

💰 WHO GETS THIS SECOND PAYMENT?

This is NOT a brand-new settlement claim.

You generally qualify for the additional payment only if you:

Filed an approved claim in the original Facebook privacy settlement AND successfully received/cashed your first settlement payment. 

So if you never filed the original claim by the August 25, 2023 deadline, unfortunately you cannot jump into the settlement now.

THE CLAIMS WINDOW IS CLOSED.

No new application.

No “I just heard about it on 730 BOOM, let me slide in there.”

💵 WHY ARE THEY PAYING PEOPLE AGAIN?

Here's where it gets interesting.

Money was left over because some of the original settlement payments were never cashed or redeemed.

Instead of letting that money sit there looking lonely, the court approved another distribution on May 6, 2026 to eligible class members who successfully cashed their first payments.

The second distribution began in June 2026.

So some eligible people have already received another payment or an email notifying them that one is coming.

and mentally paid off their mortgage.

Reports indicate these additional payments are only a few dollars for many recipients, with amounts varying based on the settlement's allocation formula.

If you filed the original Facebook privacy settlement claim, were approved, AND successfully received your first payment, check your email and payment method.
