Because after more than FOUR YEARS, P-Valley is finally headed back to television for its third season.

Waiting on Lil Murda.

Waiting to see who done lied, fought, fell in love, lost their mind, found their mind and came sliding down somebody's pole like the electric bill is due at midnight. 😂

The second season finale aired August 14, 2022.

2022?!

Baby, do you know how much has happened since 2022?

We done had elections, lawsuits, strikes, divorces, babies, inflation, AI trying to take everybody's job and groceries requiring financing.

Meanwhile, I've been sitting here asking:

“WHERE THE HELL IS P-VALLEY?!”

Well, according to the newly announced return, Season 3 arrives December 4, 2026, and unfortunately, we're also being told this will be the final season.

So y'all made us wait four years...

AND NOW YOU'RE BREAKING UP WITH US?!

That's toxic. 😂

⚖️ NOW ABOUT THAT NICCI GILBERT LAWSUIT...

And I understood at least part of why everything surrounding P-Valley got complicated, because there really was a years-long copyright battle involving former Brownstone singer and producer Nicci Gilbert-Daniels.

But I want to get this part right because social media will turn a lawsuit into a whole different story by lunchtime.

Gilbert sued Lionsgate, Starz and others connected to P-Valley in 2022, alleging the series infringed on her copyrighted work “Soul Kittens Cabaret.”

Gilbert alleged that she had pitched Soul Kittens Cabaret to Lionsgate years before P-Valley premiered and claimed there were similarities between the projects.

The defendants disputed those allegations.

And ultimately, Gilbert did not win the case.

A federal district court granted summary judgment to the defendants, concluding that a reasonable jury could not find the protected elements of the two works substantially similar. The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld that ruling in December 2024. 

Gilbert continued fighting the decision all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court, but in October 2025, the Supreme Court declined to hear her appeal.

That effectively ended the case and left the lower-court victory for the P-Valley side intact.

Creator Katori Hall later publicly defended P-Valley as her original work and said she had documentation of the project's development dating back to 2009. Gilbert, meanwhile, continued to stand behind her position even after exhausting her court appeals.

So yes, there absolutely was a lawsuit, and it became a long legal saga surrounding the show.

But I wouldn't say the lawsuit by itself is why we've been sitting here aging in dog years waiting on Season 3. There were other production complications during this enormous gap, including the Hollywood strikes.

Because P-Valley was actually renewed for Season 3 way back in October 2022.

Even Katori Hall warned us then that it was going to take a “Mississippi minute” before the show returned.

🍑 BUT THE PYNK IS FINALLY TURNING THE LIGHTS BACK ON

STARZ has already been teasing the return to Chucalissa and confirms that Brandee Evans, Nicco Annan and Shannon Thornton remain among the show's stars.

And after where Season 2 left everybody?

Baby, they've got some explaining to do.

Because I don't need a cute little five-minute recap before the premiere.

I NEED A DOCUMENTARY.

I don't remember who owes who money.

I don't remember who is sleeping with who.

I don't remember who we're mad at.

I barely remember what I was doing in 2022. 😂

STARZ, you're going to need to give me:

“Previously on P-Valley... THE ENTIRE DAMN DECADE.”

But December 4?

I'll be there.

Snacks ready.

Phone on Do Not Disturb.

And if somebody calls during P-Valley, unless the sentence starts with “the building is on fire,” they're getting sent straight to voicemail.

Because after waiting more than four years for The Pynk to reopen...

And knowing this is the final season makes it bittersweet.

We waited forever to get back to Chucalissa, and now we're apparently walking in knowing this is goodbye.
