We gotta send some serious love and prayers to Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins of TLC.

T-Boz recently had to miss a TLC performance after experiencing a sickle cell flare-up, and fellow '90s R&B favorite Mr. Dalvin of Jodeci took to social media asking fans to keep his friend lifted in prayer.

And listen...

WE ABSOLUTELY WILL. 🙏🏾❤️

T-Boz has been living with sickle cell disease since childhood, and she's spent decades being open about the painful health battles that can come with it.

So if her body is telling her:

“Girl, SIT DOWN.”

Then T-Boz...

We love you. We will be right here when you get back.

❤️ T-BOZ HAS BEEN FIGHTING THIS BATTLE FOR YEARS

Sickle cell disease isn't a little headache you pop two pills for and keep moving.

A flare-up can bring severe pain and potentially serious complications, and some people living with sickle cell require hospitalization when symptoms become severe.

T-Boz has dealt with health challenges throughout her life while simultaneously maintaining a career that would exhaust somebody WITHOUT a chronic illness.

Touring.

Recording.

Performing.

Traveling.

Raising a family.

And being one-third of one of the biggest girl groups to ever touch R&B.

That's why when she needs to step away from a stage, there shouldn't be any:

“Why didn't she perform?”

Because HEALTH comes before the damn choreography.

Every time.

Mr. Dalvin asking people to pray for T-Boz was a beautiful reminder of just how connected that era of R&B still is.

That whole era gave us music that became part of people's lives.

So seeing artists from that generation still checking on each other decades later?

WE LOVE TO SEE IT.

But speaking of TLC...

Before “No Scrubs,” a brother riding with his friend could pull up at a red light:

DO NOT LOOK AT THAT WOMAN.

Because the minute you leaned toward that window everybody heard:

TLC had men sitting in passenger seats looking like they were being transported to court.

😂 AND DON'T LET YOUR BOY HAVE A NICE CAR

That made it WORSE.

Because now you're riding passenger in your friend's Lexus and see somebody you want to talk to.

Your brain:

“Say something.”

Your pride:

“DON'T YOU FUCKING DARE.”

TLC had brothers waiting until they got OUT the car to flirt.

“Excuse me, ma'am. As you can clearly see, I am now standing independently of the passenger side.”

😭😭😭

That song changed transportation etiquette.

🎶 BUT TLC WAS WAY BIGGER THAN ONE RECORD

That's why people still love T-Boz so much.

TLC gave us music for damn near every situation.

“Creep” had everybody doing that shoulder dance in silk pajamas.

“Waterfalls” gave us a message wrapped inside a record you couldn't stop singing.

“Unpretty” hit people right in the self-esteem.

“Red Light Special” had folks making decisions that probably resulted in children who are now paying mortgages.

And then there was “No Scrubs.”

The national anthem for women who had officially had enough.

T-Boz's deep, unmistakable voice became part of the soundtrack of an entire generation.

You hear a few seconds and already know:

THAT'S T-BOZ.

Nobody else sounds like her.

❤️ NOW THE JOKES STOP

Living with sickle cell disease can be brutal.

And despite everything T-Boz has accomplished, fame doesn't make her immune from the pain and complications that come with the disease.

She has spent much of her life proving that a diagnosis doesn't automatically determine what somebody can accomplish.

But being strong doesn't mean pretending your body doesn't need rest.

Sometimes strength is knowing:

I CAN'T DO THIS SHOW TONIGHT.

And that's perfectly fine.

TLC fans have been around for decades.

WE AIN'T GOING NOWHERE.

The music isn't going anywhere.

The legacy isn't going anywhere.

And the passenger-side trauma apparently isn't going anywhere either.

So T-Boz, take your time.

Get your strength back.

Let Chilli hold things down.

And when you're healthy enough to return, your fans will be waiting.
