Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith lawsuit thumbnail

Baby, this story makes absolutely NO sense unless we start at the beginning.

Because Brother Bilaal didn't just wake up and decide:

ā€œYou know who I haven't sued yet? WILL.ā€Ā šŸ˜

This goes back years, involves an alleged threat from Jada Pinkett Smith, the infamous Oscars slap, explosive allegations about Will Smith's private life, a $3 million lawsuit, a courtroom loss that left Bilaal owing Jada more than $32,000, another lawsuit from Will's ex-wife...

And NOW Bilaal is trying to bring Will Smith directly into his case against Jada. Recent reporting says Bilaal has indicated in court filings that he intends to seek permission to amend his complaint and add Will as a co-defendant.

So pull up a chair.

WE GOTTA UNPACK THIS ONE.

šŸ‘€ FIRST, WHO IS BROTHER BILAAL?

Bilaal Salaam, better known publicly as Brother Bilaal, has described himself as a longtime former friend and associate of Will Smith. Reporting on the litigation has described their relationship as stretching back roughly 40 years.

But somewhere along the way...

THE FRIENDSHIP APPARENTLY FELL OFF A CLIFF.

And Bilaal started publicly discussing the Smith family's private business.

😳 AND YES... THIS IS THE MAN WHO MADE THAT WILL SMITH & DUANE MARTIN ALLEGATION

Let's get to the elephant sitting dead center in the living room because THAT'S why a whole lot of people know Brother Bilaal's name.

In 2023, Bilaal appeared on Tasha K's Unwine with Tasha KĀ and made an explosive allegation about Will Smith and actor Duane Martin.

Bilaal claimed that years earlier he personally walked into a dressing room and witnessed Will and Duane engaged in a sexual act.

Not:

ā€œSomebody told me.ā€

Not:

ā€œI heard a rumor.ā€

He claimed:

HE SAW IT HIMSELF.

Now before Facebook turns that sentence into a fact:

🚨 IT HAS NEVER BEEN ESTABLISHED AS TRUE.

Will Smith's representative publicly denied the allegation, calling the story ā€œcompletely fabricated.ā€

Jada also rejected Bilaal's allegations, publicly describing his claims as ā€œnonsenseā€Ā and characterizing the situation as a ā€œmoney shakedown.ā€Ā The Smiths indicated at the time that they were considering legal action.

So 730 BOOM is NOT telling you Bilaal's story happened.

We're telling you:

HE SAID IT.

WILL DENIED IT.

IT HAS NOT BEEN PROVEN.

Three completely different sentences.

šŸ‘€ BUT BILAAL SAYS HIS PROBLEMS WITH JADA STARTED BEFORE THAT INTERVIEW

And THIS is important to the current lawsuit.

Bilaal says the confrontation with Jada actually happened back in September 2021, two years before his viral Tasha K interview.

According to the $3 million complaint he filed against Jada in December 2025, Bilaal claims he attended a private birthday celebration for Will in Calabasas.

He alleges Jada confronted him and threatened that if he continued discussing her personal business, he could ā€œend up missing or catch a bullet.ā€

Again:

THAT IS BILAAL'S ALLEGATION. JADA DENIES WRONGDOING.

He also alleged that people associated with Jada subsequently intimidated or threatened him.

So according to Bilaal's version of events, this beef didn't start when he sat down with Tasha K.

THE POT HAD ALREADY BEEN COOKING.

šŸ‘‹šŸ¾ THEN CAME THE OSCARS SLAP

Remember when Will Smith walked onstage at the 2022 Oscars and slapped Chris Rock?

Of course you do.

America STILL hasn't finished that conversation. 😭

Bilaal claims he was later pressured to assist with damage control following the Oscars controversy and that he refused.

His lawsuit alleges that his refusal to help manage the fallout became another source of conflict between him and the Smith camp.

Then came Bilaal's plans to publicly discuss his history with the family.

Then came the interviews.

Then came the allegations.

Then came lawyers.

And once lawyers arrive?

EVERYBODY PUT YOUR PHONES DOWN.Ā šŸ˜āš–ļø

šŸ’° BILAAL SUED JADA FOR $3 MILLION

In December 2025, Bilaal filed his lawsuit against Jada seeking at least $3 million in damages.

He alleged intentional infliction of emotional distress stemming from the alleged 2021 confrontation and what he characterized as subsequent retaliation.

Jada denied wrongdoing and came back swinging legally.

She filed an anti-SLAPP motion, arguing that portions of Bilaal's lawsuit targeted speech and legal communications protected under California law.

And Jada won a significant portion of that fight.

āš–ļø JADA GOT MAJOR PARTS OF HIS CASE STRUCK

The court struck allegations related to Jada's public media statements and a cease-and-desist letter. But this is important:

BILAAL'S ENTIRE CASE WAS NOT THROWN OUT.

The court described Jada's anti-SLAPP victory as partial, which is why saying ā€œBilaal completely lost his lawsuitā€ would be inaccurate.

But that partial loss came with a VERY real bill.

šŸ’ø YOU SUED HER FOR $3 MILLION AND ENDED UP OWING HER $32,836?!

Jada initially sought $49,181.23Ā in attorney fees.

The judge reduced that amount, finding some billing excessive and also accounting for Jada's partial rather than complete success.

Final tab for Bilaal:

$32,836.

😭

Baby...

That's when you leave court looking at your lawyer like:

ā€œWAIT... WHO SUED WHO?!ā€

The judge ordered Bilaal to pay Jada's attorney fees and costs in May.

😩 AND BILAAL SAID HE CAN'T PAY IT

Bilaal subsequently asked the court for relief from the fee award.

He claimed in court papers that he was ā€œcertified homeless,ā€ receiving welfare benefits and financially unable to pay the judgment.

He sought either a substantial reduction or some accommodation regarding payment.

Now I'm not laughing at anybody being homeless.

THAT AIN'T FUNNY.

But from a legal-strategy standpoint...

Going into court asking somebody for $3 MILLIONĀ and leaving owing THEM $32,836Ā is the kind of plot twist nobody orders.

😳 AND THEN WILL'S EX-WIFE SAID, ā€œI GOT SOMETHING FOR YOU TOO.ā€

Because Bilaal's legal problems aren't limited to Jada.

Will Smith's first wife, Sheree Zampino, filed her own lawsuit against Bilaal in May.

She's seeking $1 million, accusing him of slander and intentional infliction of emotional distress over statements he allegedly made about her during another Tasha K appearance.

Sheree alleges Bilaal falsely portrayed her as sexually promiscuous and that his comments damaged her reputation.

Those allegations are now the subject of separate litigation.

So let's check the scoreboard:

Bilaal sued Jada for $3 million.

Jada got major portions struck and won $32,836 in attorney fees.

Sheree sued Bilaal for $1 million.

And now...

BILAAL WANTS WILL.

😭😭😭

Sir, at this rate we're going to need a Smith Family Courthouse Wing.

šŸ‘ØšŸ¾ā€āš–ļø FIRST HE WANTED WILL TO TESTIFY

Last month, Bilaal tried to get Will involved another way.

He requested that Will sit for a depositionĀ in the Jada case.

Jada's lawyers responded that Will wasn't a party to the lawsuit and hadn't been served with a subpoena, arguing there was therefore nothing for the parties to discuss concerning the proposed deposition.

Meanwhile, Jada's attorneys were pressing Bilaal for evidence of his own, including recordings of communications he claims involved threats and medical records supporting the emotional-distress damages for which he's seeking millions.

And THAT part caught my attention.

Because if you're asking me for $3 million because somebody emotionally damaged you...

The courtroom eventually gets to:

ā€œOKAY. SHOW US.ā€

šŸ‘€ NOW BILAAL IS TRYING TO ADD WILL AS A DEFENDANT

And this is the newest development.

According to reporting on the latest court documents, Bilaal is now seeking to amend his complaint and add Will Smith as a co-defendantĀ in the case against Jada.

But everybody slow down before somebody posts:

ā€œWILL SMITH SUED FOR $3 MILLION!ā€

That's not where we are.

Will has not automatically become a defendant simply because Bilaal wants him added.

Bilaal needs the court to permit the amendment.

So right now:

Jada is the defendant.

Bilaal is the plaintiff.

Will is the person Bilaal is trying to bring into the case.

And THAT distinction matters.

šŸ”“ LADY RED SAYS...

Baby, at this point...

I NEED RECEIPTS.

And I don't mean another podcast.

Not another interview.

Not:

ā€œI knew Will for 40 years.ā€

Not:

ā€œI was there.ā€

Not:

ā€œEverybody around them knows.ā€

EVIDENCE.

If Jada threatened you?

SHOW IT.

If somebody acting for Jada threatened you?

SHOW IT.

If Will did something that makes him legally responsible for the harm you're alleging?

SHOW THAT TOO.

And if you say Will has information necessary to prove your case?

Okay.

EXPLAIN WHY.

Because once you ask a court for millions of dollars, the standard changes.

The internet runs on stories.

COURT RUNS ON EVIDENCE.

And Jada's lawyers are now specifically demanding recordings and medical documentation connected to Bilaal's allegations and claimed emotional injuries.

That's where this gets interesting.

Because we've heard Brother Bilaal TALK.

A LOT.

Now the question is:

WHAT CAN HE PROVE?

Maybe the judge lets him add Will.

Maybe the judge doesn't.

Maybe there's evidence sitting somewhere that changes this entire story.

Or maybe Bilaal's legal battle keeps shrinking while the bills keep growing.

But one thing is certain:

WILL SMITH IS NOT CURRENTLY A DEFENDANT JUST BECAUSE BROTHER BILAAL WANTS HIM TO BE ONE.

And that alleged Will-and-Duane-Martin story that lit the internet on fire?

It remains exactly what it was when Bilaal first told it:

AN ALLEGATION THAT WILL SMITH DENIES AND THAT HAS NOT BEEN PROVEN.

Now THAT'S the whole story.

šŸ‘€ 730 BOOM FAMILY, WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Brother Bilaal says he spent decades inside Will Smith's circle.

We've heard the stories.

We've heard the accusations.

We've heard the denials.

So my question isn't:

ā€œDO YOU BELIEVE HIM?ā€

My question is:

IF YOU'RE ASKING A COURT FOR $3 MILLION, WHAT EVIDENCE WOULD YOU NEED TO SEE BEFORE YOU'D GIVE HIM A DIME?Ā šŸ‘€āš–ļø

Because baby...

THE PODCAST INTERVIEW IS OVER.

NOW WE'RE IN COURT.
