🚨😳 HARVEY WEINSTEIN GETS 15 YEARS IN NEW YORK... SIR, THE COURTS HAVE BEEN PLAYING PING-PONG WITH THIS CASE FOR SIX YEARS!

730 BOOM RADIO | Lady Red
CHIIILE... Harvey Weinstein is headed back down the prison road after one of the longest legal roller coasters in the #MeToo era.
A New York judge sentenced the disgraced former Hollywood producer to 15 years in prison Wednesday, September 23, for sexually assaulting former television production assistant Miriam Haley at his Manhattan apartment in 2006. Weinstein was convicted at his 2025 retrial of a first-degree criminal sex act.
And before somebody says, “Wait, wasn't this man already convicted YEARS ago?”
YES.
Pull up a chair because this case has had more sequels than some of the movies he produced.
🎬 FIRST IT WAS 23 YEARS... THEN THE CONVICTION GOT THROWN OUT
Back in 2020, Weinstein was convicted in New York of sexually assaulting Haley and raping aspiring actress Jessica Mann. He received a 23-year prison sentence.
Then came 2024.
New York's highest court overturned that conviction and ordered a new trial, finding that Weinstein had been unfairly prejudiced when the original judge allowed testimony from women whose allegations weren't part of the criminal charges being tried.
Now let me be clear because this gets twisted online:
The court didn't rule that the assaults never happened.
It ruled there were serious problems with how the original trial was conducted.
So prosecutors said, essentially:
Fine. We'll try him again.
⚖️ AND THE SECOND JURY CONVICTED HIM AGAIN
At Weinstein's 2025 retrial, jurors again found him guilty of sexually assaulting Miriam Haley.
But the verdict wasn't a clean sweep.
He was acquitted on a separate sexual-assault charge involving former model Kaja Sokola, while jurors couldn't reach a unanimous verdict on the rape charge involving Jessica Mann.
Prosecutors tried the Mann charge again this year.
And AGAIN the jury couldn't agree.
That trial ended in a mistrial in May 2026. Prosecutors later dropped the charge rather than attempt a fourth trial after Mann indicated she couldn't endure another one.
Baby...
At some point the courthouse needed one of those little punch cards:
Attend five Weinstein trials, your sixth one is FREE. 😩
😔 MIRIAM HALEY ADDRESSED THE COURT
Before Weinstein was sentenced Wednesday, Haley delivered a victim-impact statement describing the lasting effect the assault has had on her life.
She told the court that the experience damaged her sense of security and said the years spent pursuing accountability had caused additional trauma.
Weinstein also addressed the judge.
He expressed remorse for Haley's pain while continuing to maintain that he is innocent. Weinstein has repeatedly denied sexually assaulting anyone or engaging in nonconsensual sex.
Judge Curtis Farber ultimately handed down the 15-year sentence, below the 20 years prosecutors had requested and the maximum possible sentence of 25 years.
🚨 AND NEW YORK ISN'T HIS ONLY CASE
Weinstein also has a separate California conviction.
He was convicted there in 2022 and originally sentenced to 16 years, but a California appeals court later upheld the conviction while ordering him to be resentenced.
So today's 15-year New York sentence doesn't necessarily close the book on Harvey Weinstein's legal problems.
🎙️ LADY RED SAYS...
Now Harvey...
You were once one of the most powerful men in Hollywood.
Oscars.
Blockbuster movies.
Celebrities everywhere.
People wanted five minutes in a room with you because you could change their careers.
And according to the conviction that now stands, that power was abused.
Then the first conviction got overturned.
You got another trial.
And another jury looked at the evidence involving Miriam Haley and said:
GUILTY.
Sir, at some point you have to stop looking for the Hollywood ending because THIS IS NOT A MOVIE.
And there's something else worth remembering.
When that 2020 conviction was overturned, some people immediately treated it as though Weinstein had been declared innocent.
He wasn't.
The appellate court found the original trial legally flawed and gave him another trial.
The prosecution had to prove the case again.
And on the Haley charge...
THEY DID.
Now the sentence is 15 years.
Not the original 23.
Not the 20 prosecutors requested.
But fifteen years imposed after a retrial, an acquittal on another count, two deadlocked juries on a separate allegation and six years of courtroom battles.
Harvey Weinstein's Hollywood empire disappeared a long time ago.
Today, the judge handed him something considerably less glamorous:
A 15-YEAR SENTENCE.
