Because after watching Beauty in Black have somebody talking about divorce and marriage foolishness, it reminded us of a REAL celebrity story that sounds like Tyler Perry could've written it himself.

And first, let's make sure we have the right woman:

MICHEL’LE TOUSSAINT.

The R&B singer with that tiny, high-pitched speaking voice who could open her mouth to sing and suddenly sound like somebody completely different.

THAT MICHEL’LE.

And baby, her relationship history?

Tyler Perry could've gotten three seasons and a Christmas special out of this shit. 😭😂

🎤 BEFORE SUGE KNIGHT... THERE WAS DR. DRE

Michel’le's story with Dr. Dre goes WAY back.

She met Dre when she was a teenager while recording vocals connected to the World Class Wreckin’ Cru, before N.W.A. became the cultural earthquake everybody remembers.

Michel’le and Dre eventually became a couple and had a son together, Marcel Young, born in 1991. 

So yes...

MICHEL’LE HAD A CHILD WITH DR. DRE FIRST.

But let's correct one thing because this story gets repeated wrong all the time:

Michel’le did not have multiple children with Dre. They share one son, Marcel.

Their relationship was also deeply troubled. Michel’le has publicly alleged for years that Dre physically abused her during their relationship. Dre later issued a broader public apology to women he had hurt, although he did not name Michel’le individually in that statement.

So we're not making jokes about THAT part.

Domestic violence isn't funny.

But where this story eventually goes?

After Michel’le's relationship with Dre ended, she became involved with Marion “Suge” Knight, the co-founder of Death Row Records.

Michel’le had a baby with Dre...

Then later got with Suge Knight...

And eventually had a daughter with Suge, Bailei Knight, born in 2002.

But before Bailei was born, Michel’le and Suge had what Michel’le believed was a marriage.

According to Michel’le's account, they married in 1999 while Suge was incarcerated.

Apparently sometimes...

THROUGH CORRECTIONS.

But Michel’le believed:

THAT WAS HER HUSBAND.

And she lived under that understanding for YEARS.

Eventually, the relationship fell apart.

Michel’le has also alleged that Suge physically abused her, including an incident in which she says he dislocated her jaw. Again, we're not joking about abuse.

After roughly six years, Michel’le decided she wanted OUT.

So naturally...

SHE FILED FOR DIVORCE.

Makes sense.

Marriage ain't working?

Get divorced.

Except...

There was one tiny problem.

One microscopic little administrative hiccup.

One teeny-tiny detail somebody apparently forgot to mention...

THE DAMN MARRIAGE WASN'T LEGALLY VALID.

Michel’le says she discovered during the divorce process that Suge Knight was apparently still legally married to his previous wife, Sharitha, when he married Michel’le.

Which meant Michel’le's marriage to Suge was invalid.

IMAGINE FILING FOR DIVORCE AND THE COURT BASICALLY SAYS:

“Ma'am...

From WHO?”

“We had a little ceremony in Vegas last weekend and apparently the paperwork didn't go through.”

She believed she'd been married to this man for YEARS.

They had a daughter together.

Then when she finally decided to legally end the marriage...

THAT'S WHEN SHE SAYS SHE FOUND OUT THE MARRIAGE WAS NEVER LEGALLY VALID IN THE FIRST DAMN PLACE.

Imagine spending six years thinking you're Mrs. Somebody only for the courthouse to hit you with:

“Actually...”

Baby, “actually” would have gotten somebody escorted out.

Michel’le's relationship history includes:

Dr. Dre.

A son with Dr. Dre.

Suge Knight.

A supposed marriage to Suge.

Then trying to divorce Suge...

Only to discover the marriage wasn't legally valid because Suge was reportedly still married to somebody else.

And yes, Michel’le later went to court regarding child and spousal-support issues involving Suge, so the invalid marriage didn't magically erase every legal and financial issue surrounding their relationship and daughter.

Because after watching eight episodes of Tyler Perry give us drugs, killers, gangsters, addiction, strip clubs, FBI raids, family dysfunction, horrible parenting, betrayals, blackmail and everybody apparently having an ass-kicker on speed dial...

But beneath the funny WTF element is a woman who has publicly described surviving two extremely difficult relationships, raising children and eventually telling her own story.

So we're laughing at the absurdity of discovering your marriage wasn't legally valid, NOT the abuse Michel’le says she experienced.

Because THAT part deserves compassion.

But the courthouse revelation?

If I walk into court trying to divorce my husband and somebody tells me:

“Ma'am, legally you don't have one...”
