Quality Control co-founder Pierre “P” Thomas is reportedly IMPROVING after suffering a heart attack in Las Vegas.

P remains hospitalized according to the latest verified update, but sources familiar with his condition say he is continuing to recover. Quality Control previously confirmed that P is alive and receiving medical care after false reports of his death circulated online.

There has not yet been a confirmed announcement that P has been released from the hospital, and his current ICU status has not been publicly confirmed.

For now, the news we CAN report is encouraging:

Prayers up for Pierre “P” Thomas, the music executive who helped build Quality Control Music into one of hip-hop's biggest powerhouses.

Thomas reportedly suffered a heart attack and is currently being treated in the intensive care unit at a Las Vegas hospital. TMZ reports that family members are at the hospital with him and are consulting with doctors about the next steps in his care.

🙏🏾 WHAT WE KNOW RIGHT NOW

As of August 21, details about Thomas' condition remain limited.

Baller Alert reports that he remains under doctors' care in the ICU with his family by his side. Quality Control has not publicly released a detailed statement about his condition. 

And because this story is developing, that's where we need to be careful.

There are unconfirmed rumors circulating online claiming Thomas has died, but as of this writing, there has been no official confirmation of his death from his family, representatives or other authoritative sources. 

So 730 BOOM Radio is NOT reporting that rumor as fact.

Right now, the confirmed reporting is that Pierre “P” Thomas suffered a heart attack and has been hospitalized in the ICU.

You may not recognize Pierre Thomas' face immediately, but if you've listened to hip-hop over the last decade, you DEFINITELY know the empire he helped create.

Thomas and Kevin “Coach K” Lee founded Quality Control Music in Atlanta in 2013, building the company from the ground up into a major force in hip-hop.

And when you start naming artists connected to QC?

Baby, that résumé gets LONG.

Migos.

Lil Baby.

Lil Yachty.

City Girls.

And Cardi B was managed under the company's umbrella earlier in her career.

Quality Control wasn't just signing artists either.

Thomas and Coach K invested heavily in building their own Atlanta headquarters, including recording studios, and developed their own promotion and radio operation instead of depending entirely on somebody else's infrastructure.

💰 AND THEY BUILT SOMETHING VALUABLE

In 2023, Quality Control's parent company was acquired by HYBE America in a deal valued in the hundreds of millions of dollars, while Thomas and Lee remained involved in running the label.

Quality Control also expanded beyond records.

The company moved into sports representation, with Quality Control Sports representing professional athletes, and expanded into film and other entertainment ventures.

So when people talk about Black entrepreneurs who helped change the BUSINESS behind modern hip-hop, Pierre “P” Thomas belongs in that conversation.

One of the things that makes P's story powerful is where he came from.

Thomas has previously talked about struggling to find employment while on parole before his success in music. He has described himself as the person who was able to break a generational cycle of poverty in his family.

to building a company responsible for some of the biggest artists of a generation.

That's bigger than music.
