Chile, Tupacâs murder has been collecting conspiracy theories longer than some of yâall have been paying bills. đŠ
And now that the Keefe D case has dragged one of hip-hopâs biggest mysteries right back under the spotlight, Snoop Doggâs name is getting tossed around online too.
So naturally the internet did what the internet does:
âSNOOP WAS INVOLVED!â
Wait a damn minute.
Because somebodyâs name coming up in conversations surrounding Tupac, Death Row and the East Coast/West Coast beef is NOT the same thing as being implicated in Tupacâs murder.
And that's an important distinction.
đś SO WAS SNOOP ACCUSED OF KILLING PAC?
Based on the prosecution's case against Duane âKeefe Dâ Davis, NO.
Authorities have long alleged that four men were inside the white Cadillac involved in the September 7, 1996 shooting of Tupac Shakur in Las Vegas: Keefe D, Orlando Anderson, Deandrae âBig Dreâ Smith and Terrence âT-Brownâ Brown.
Snoop Dogg was not one of those four men.
The prosecution's theory centered on Keefe D allegedly helping arrange the shooting as retaliation after Tupac, Suge Knight and others attacked Orlando Anderson inside the MGM Grand earlier that night.
So unless Snoop learned how to teleport from wherever he was into a white Cadillac without anybody noticing for 30 years...
That ain't what prosecutors are saying.
đ THEN WHY DOES SNOOP'S NAME KEEP POPPING UP?
Because this story has more side stories than a Tyler Perry series.
Tupac and Snoop were both Death Row artists. Their relationship reportedly became strained before Pac died, particularly after Snoop publicly said he had no problem with Biggie and Puff Daddy during the height of the East Coast-West Coast feud.
Pac apparently wasn't feeling that AT ALL.
So there is legitimate history involving:
Tupac. Snoop. Suge. Death Row. Bad Boy. Biggie. Puff.
That's enough ingredients for the internet to cook a conspiracy casserole every six months.
But here's where Lady Red needs everybody to put the aluminum foil back in the drawer:
A BAD RELATIONSHIP ISN'T A MURDER PLOT.
Two rappers falling out doesn't mean one arranged the other's death.
Somebody mentioning Snoop while telling a story about Death Row doesn't mean Snoop participated in a homicide.
And a viral TikTok with dramatic music underneath it DAMN SURE ain't an indictment. đ
đ¨ AND WE'RE NOT PUTTING EXTRA PEOPLE IN THE CADILLAC
This case already has enough twists without adding passengers.
If somebody comes forward with actual testimony, court documents, recordings or evidence alleging that Snoop participated in Tupac's murder?
THAT'S NEWS.
Until then, we're not turning:
âSnoop's name was mentionedâ
into:
âSnoop was implicated in Tupac's murder.â
Those are two completely different statements.
Because over here at 730 BOOM, we can talk our mess...
BUT THE RECEIPTS STILL GOTTA RECEIPT. đ§žđ
And after almost 30 years of theories surrounding Tupac's death, apparently we still have to remind everybody:
EVERYBODY WHO HAD BEEF WITH PAC WASN'T IN THE DAMN CADILLAC.
Now THAT'S the story.
