🚨RICK ROSS ARRESTED ON DOMESTIC VIOLENCE CHARGES

MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA — Rapper and music mogul Rick Ross was arrested Thursday, October 1, after voluntarily surrendering to Miami Beach police in connection with an alleged domestic violence incident.

Ross, whose legal name is William Roberts II, faces one felony count of battery by strangulation and one misdemeanor battery charge, according to police and court records.

WHAT IS HE ACCUSED OF?

According to the arrest affidavit, the allegations stem from an incident that allegedly occurred August 28 at Ross' Star Island residence.

The woman told investigators that she and Ross had been in a relationship and were living together at the time.

She alleges an argument escalated after Ross confronted her about being tagged in an Instagram photo. According to police, she accused Ross of striking her multiple times and restricting her breathing by twisting the collar of her hoodie.

Police said investigators received a statement from the woman, photographs documenting alleged injuries and surveillance video before establishing probable cause.

These remain allegations, and Ross has denied them.

⚖️ ROSS PLEADS NOT GUILTY

Ross appeared in court Thursday, where his attorney entered a not guilty plea on his behalf.

A judge set his bond at $5,000 and ordered him to have no direct or indirect contact with the accuser. Ross was released from jail later Thursday after posting bond.

His arraignment is scheduled for October 22.

After his release, Ross publicly denied the accusations and maintained that he is innocent.

His attorneys also issued a statement saying he had been wrongfully accused and urged the public not to prejudge the case before it moves through the legal system.
