Woman shot in carjacking attempt, 730 Boom Radio news

A woman was wounded during an attempted carjacking early Saturday on Chicago’s West Side.

Chicago police said the 36-year-old woman was getting out of her vehicle in the 4600 block of West Fifth Avenue shortly before 12:40 a.m.

An unknown man allegedly approached her with a gun, demanded her vehicle and fired multiple shots before running away.

The woman was struck in the back. Paramedics treated her at the scene before taking her to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she was listed in good condition.

Police did not release a description of the attacker, and no arrests had been announced.

Area Four detectives are investigating the shooting.
