Chris Brown’s Former Housekeeper Can Now Come for His Tour Money

Chris might have to go on another tour.

Whew. Chris Brown may be singing “Run It!” onstage, but apparently the court said, yeah Chris... run that MONEY too. 😩

A Los Angeles judge has ruled that Maria Avila, Chris Brown’s former housekeeper, can pursue money from his tour income and royalties to help satisfy the nearly $13 million judgment she won against him over a horrific 2020 dog attack.

And before anybody says, “Wait... how did we get from housekeeping to concert money?” Let me back this thing ALL the way up.

This Started With a Horrific Dog Attack

Maria Avila worked as a housekeeper at Chris Brown’s Tarzana, California home.

In December 2020, Avila was working at the property when Hades, Brown’s approximately 200-pound Caucasian shepherd, attacked her. The injuries were devastating.

According to court reporting, Avila suffered permanent facial disfigurement, scarring, nerve damage and other serious injuries. A Los Angeles jury ultimately found Brown and his company, Black Pyramid LLC, liable and awarded Avila $12.9 million. Her sister Patricia was awarded another $885,000 for emotional distress, while Maria’s husband received $50,000.

So no, this wasn't somebody suing because a Chihuahua nipped their ankle and ruined a pair of leggings.

This woman was seriously injured.

Then Came the Question: Where Is the Money?

Winning a lawsuit and collecting the judgment are two different things.

Avila went back to court seeking access to Brown’s income after alleging that he had made no effort to satisfy the judgment. She targeted money connected to his entertainment work, including income from his current tour with Usher, along with royalties and other payments.

Chris fought it.

His attorneys objected to having his present and future income redirected toward Avila.

But according to court documents reported by TMZ on August 21, the judge granted Avila’s request, allowing money Brown receives from royalties and tour income to be assigned toward satisfying the judgment.

Baby...

That's when your lawsuit goes from:

“You owe me.”

to:

“And apparently I'm coming to where the checks live.” 😂

Chris Brown Is Still Fighting the Original Verdict

Now, don't mistake this ruling for Chris Brown throwing his hands up and accepting the nearly $13 million judgment.

He hasn't.

Brown is challenging the verdict and seeking a new trial, arguing among other things that there were problems with the proceedings and that the damages were excessive.

So this legal fight is very much still alive.

It also remains unclear whether Brown will seek reconsideration of or appeal this latest ruling concerning his income.

But as things stand right now, Avila has received something extremely important:

A legal path to actually collect the money she won.

And THAT is the part people sometimes miss.

A $12.9 million judgment looks beautiful on paper, but you can't pay a hospital bill with a PDF that says CONGRATULATIONS, YOU WON.

You still have to collect.

A jury heard the case. A woman suffered devastating injuries. She won a multimillion-dollar judgment. Chris has every legal right to challenge that verdict, and he's doing exactly that.

But until a court changes it?

That judgment is sitting there with its hand out.

And apparently it just got backstage access. 😭

So while Chris and Usher are out there giving folks vocals, choreography and grown-folks R&B...

Maria's attorneys may be looking at that tour revenue like:
