🎭 TRUMP WANTED HIS NAME ON THE KENNEDY CENTER... THE CROWD HAD A DIFFERENT NAME FOR THAT: NOPE

President Donald Trump has spent months putting the Kennedy Center at the center of his second-term agenda. But this weekend, thousands of people showed up outside the Washington, D.C., landmark with a message of their own: keep your hands off the arts. 

And BOOM family, apparently this was not the audience participation he ordered. 😭

The demonstration, called “Hands Around the Kennedy Center,” brought protesters into the streets Friday evening. At one point, participants joined hands to form a human chain around the building. Signs included “Hands Off the Arts” and “You’re No Jack Kennedy,” along with plenty of creative digs at the president.

The protest follows a fight over the future of the Kennedy Center.

Trump has said the building is deteriorating and has publicly raised the possibility that it may need to be torn down and rebuilt. His administration argues major changes are necessary because of the center's physical and financial condition. Critics, including artists and protesters, fear the changes could permanently alter or destroy the historic institution.

A federal judge has now required the Kennedy Center to provide at least 30 days' notice before major physical alterations, including demolition, while litigation surrounding the center continues.

Lady Red translation:

Trump: Maybe we need to tear it down.

The crowd: Maybe you need to leave that building ALONE. 😂

Now THAT is what I call immediate audience feedback.

👀 AND ABOUT THAT “HUMILIATED” HEADLINE...

Some outlets described the demonstration as Trump being “humiliated” by a giant crowd. That's their characterization, not an objective fact. What we can verify is that thousands protested, surrounded the Kennedy Center and publicly opposed the direction Trump and the center's current leadership are taking.

Trump, meanwhile, has defended his approach. He told reporters Friday that his administration could save the Kennedy Center and argued that it deserves recognition for doing so.

So we've got Trump saying he's trying to save it.

We've got thousands outside saying save it FROM what you're trying to do to it.

And somewhere in Washington, somebody's blood pressure is performing a full Broadway production. 🎭😂

Whatever happens next, one thing was unmistakable this weekend:

The audience definitely had notes.
